Study of a music video director: Garth Jennings: Why i chose him.

Why did you chose Garth Jennings, as your music director? 

I chose Garth Jennings as my music video director, due to the fact that i met him before and i found the artists he had worked with really interesting. Whilst hearing about all of the videos he had made beforehand i was really interested in his concepts. Garth Jennings ideas for his videos focus around this child-like imagination making silly puns and little tricks. Also his use of cinematography and mise-en-scene has always explored new lengths, which greatly interests me. Mixing animations in to the real world and the use of little effects made up by tiny stunts such as confetti canons gives his music videos a light-hearted comical edge, which is really why i chose him for the lighthearted comedy he brings to songs that might have been perceived slightly lower and melancholy mood.
